Government of Nepal is responsible for ensuring the defence of Nepal and every part thereof. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) undertakes this responsibility by formulating and channelling to formulate defence policies and coordinating the Nepalese defence affairs with other agencies of the government and the Nepal Army.
