All over the world cancer is known as a dreaded disease because of its impact on the human body and mind. According to WHO 10 million of people are suffering from cancer per year. It is estimated that the number will double within 10 years. In Nepal the number of cancer cases is increasing day by day.

Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital (BCH) was established by Nepal Cancer Relief Society in 1992 as a 15-bedded cancer care center with the support of Sahid Smriti Cancer Service Group. At present Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital has been established as a national level cancer hospital and has become a model hospital of first public -private partnership. Nepal Cancer Relief Society is running BCH with the support of Nepal Government, Rotary International and Local Community as well as the foreign residents and visitors also have contributed the project through donation of land, money and services. Currently, it has 62 beds with 140 staffs (Technical, Ancillary and Administrative).
