Gandaki Boarding School is a Higher Secondary School (10+2) located at Lamachaur at the northern end of Pokhara valley. The school was established on 11th June 1966 (30th Jestha, 2023). The stream of 10+2 is science.
GBS is providing an English medium, international standard, all-round education to about 1072 students, classes 4-12. Of this number 35% are girls, 20% are scholarship students, and 65% are boarders.
The school is a non-profit institution owned by Nepal Government (Ministry of Education) and used to be run by an agreement and in collaboration with the United Mission to Nepal.

Students are admitted only on the basis of entrance test examination. The school is run by the school Managing Committee. The staff have had their education and training both in Nepal and overseas. The facilities and resources of the school for both boys and girls include well-equipped classrooms, library, labs, gymnasium, playgrounds, a health centre and ten hostels. Academic performance has been excellent both in SLC and 10+2 exams. For its best academic performance in the S.L.C. Exam GBS has been awarded the Regional Educational Birendra Shield for 15 times. In the S.L.C. exam of B.S. 2060, among 113 students 66 obtained distinction with 100 % 1st Div and 4 students stood as board 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 9th. One girl stood 1st from among the girls in Kaski District. GBS was awarded NATIONAL BIRENDRA EDUCATION SHIELD, for 2060 B.S. (2004 A.D.)
To provide tertiary education in Western Development Region G.B.S started BE in Software Engineering at the Gandaki College of Engineering and Science.
