Himalaya College of Engineering (HCOE), affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU), was established in June 2000 AD with an aim to provide quality education in engineering and produce qualified engineering graduates. The College has been conducting BE programmes of Institute of Engineering (IOE), TU in Computer, Electronics and Communication, and Civil Engineering. From this year, Bachelor of Architecture programme has also been launched. It has been run by a strong team of professionals and academics who possess sufficient experience in managing large educational networks for a long time. The College has been associated with Kathmandu Model College (KMC) since May 2007. The College has expanded its pogrammes, and gained strength in order to make further improvement in all areas since its association with KMC.
The college is located in an easily accessible place: Chyasal, Lalitpur.
The College, which has maintained all its academic programmes as per the standard laid down by IOE, assures quality education required for the students in the present context, and assists them in pursuing their professional and educational goals. So, the BE graduates of this college are professionally competent in communication and information technology. As BE Civil has been introduced since 2008, the College believes that the civil engineering students also will turn out to be an asset for the country in engineering. One of our students, Mr. Pratap Sapkota, obtained the highest percentage (87.7 %) in 3rd year, 1st semester of BE Computer in IOE exam, 2065. The college is proud of all the students who have passed out and have got well-deserved positions in different institutions in the country and abroad as well.
The college gives priority equally to extra curricular activities. Its robotics team got first position (Grand Prix) in inter-engineering college competition held in Kathmandu in 2065. ENSAS is one of them that provides a platform for the students to excel in their literary skills and tastes while OSC helps them in promotion and support of free and open source software. The college has different institutions and council through which they can explore their potentials
