Maunata Shrestha is a Nepalese film script writer and producer based in Kathmandu. He was born in Dhulikhel, Kavre. He has been working in Nepali the film industry for 20 years. He started his career writing script for a famous telefilm called “Bansa” which was also the first longest telefilm at that time. The serial was screened in 105 episodes for 2 years. He has also acted in teleserials like Yo euta shaharko Katha, Rahar, Abiral Bagdachha Indrawati and many more.
He has written more than 150 feature film scripts among which about 100 were chart buster super hits like Maya Namara, Ajambari Nata, Dhadkan, Dosti, Khalanayak, Dadagiri, Giraftar, Takkar, Buwa Ama, Sapana etc.
These past eight years, he has been producing films from his own banner Rose Pictures Pvt. Ltd. The banner has produced more than six films. Some of the films produced by Rose are Abhimanyu, Andhi Tufan, Bhagawan Sabaiko, Boss, Trishna and Sakas.
