Silver Star Crafts was founded in 1983. Our original purpose was to provide a means of support for the artisans of the Kathmandu Valley. As these craftspeople could not support themselves solely through their art, many of them were also farmers. Silver Star Shop’s goal was to fill this under-employment void. These traditions continue to this day as we utilize over 150 artisan families to supply us with our goods.

Silver Star Crafts is nestled in Thamel – main tourist area – in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. The mighty Himalaya loom only 20 miles to the north. Kathmandu is a city with a tremendous cultural and religious heritage. Travelers from all over the world come to visit the temples, monasteries and pilgrimage sites scattered throughout Nepal’s capital.

Manufacturing and wholesaling silver jewelry with semi-precious stones is our specialty. We can also provide you with a wide variety of other Nepalese handicrafts including pashmina, white metal and tri-metal products, singing bowls, incense, etc.
